1874 Northwich are delighted to announce that Matt Woolley is remaining with the Greens ahead of the new season.
Matt, 34, has been at the club in all eleven of the club’s previous seasons, since making his debut in December 2013.
Matt has been a key figure in the team, serving as captain for many years and taking over as joint player-manager with fellow stalwart, Mark Jones.
It was a great start to the season for Matt, scoring two spectacular goals away to Longridge Town and Uttoxeter Town, however he was very unfortunate with injuries for the remainder of the campaign.
But Matt recovered just in time to be subbed on in the play-off semi-final at Atherstone Town, where he headed in the 90+7th minute, sending the Viola into the final.
So far, Matt has made 431 appearances and scoring an impressive 49 goals.
Here’s to another successful season!
