1874 continued their impressive recent form, by easily dispatching Colne at Townfield.
74’ were on top from the get-go, Harry Bower missed a golden chance in the first 10 minutes inside the area when it looked easier to score.
Captain Matt Woolley broke the deadlock with a nice headed finish into the bottom left corner in the 25th minute.
It was another header in the second half this time from Jack Irlam, who scored from 10 yards after Jamal Crawford spotted him inside the box.
74 were now relentless in their pressure on the Colne goal and got a third when Matty Fenton finished well at the back post with 20 minutes to go.
Isaac Noble showed quick reactions to tap home from the keeper’s parry to make it 4-0.
Matt Woolley then had a chance for his second and 74’s fifth but Hakan Burton saved his penalty smartly.
McDaniel Kyobe grabbed a consolation goal with seconds remaining for the visitors with a close range finish.
