1874 secured their NPL status for another season, beating second placed Workington in a seven goal thriller at Townfield.
The Reds took the lead within the first ten minutes through Scott Allison who finished well after an error at the back gifted them a chance.
Matthew Fenton equalised for 1874, thumping home a header from a Joe Woolley corner.
Two minutes later 1874 were ahead. Jack Irlam was on hand to turn home a low drive from Mark Jones, which turned the game on its head.
Reuben Jerome made the scores level again just before half time, scoring a rebound from a saved penalty.
1874 started the second half brightly and regained their lead, Joe Woolley got in behind the defence and lifted a beautiful chipped finish over Atkinson in the Workington goal.
With only ten minutes remaining, 1874 got another goal that their play deserved, Jack Irlam lobbed Atkinson to stretch the lead by two goals.
Scott Allison was allowed too much space for the visitors, who drilled a low effort in to the bottom corner past Callister to set up a nervous finish.
The full time whistle sounded, and it was a much deserved three points for 1874.
